AFRICAN RESTAURANT, ÈKÓ HOUSE, ANNOUNCES GRAND OPENING IN ROCKVILLE

Èkó House, a modern Pan-African restaurant in Rockville Town square, Maryland, will be hosting its Grand Opening ceremony on July 29 & 30, 2022. The highly anticipated 2-day event is set to commence with a Ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, July 29, and end with a grand party on Saturday, July 30, 2022. On Friday, the ceremony will host several notable names, including Will Jawando, Montgomery County Council Member, Marji Graf, President & CEO, Rockville Chamber of Commerce; Ricky Barker, Director, Community Planning and Development Services; and Cindy Rivarde, Director, Rockville Economic Development Inc, amongst others. Meanwhile, Simi, the award-winning Nigerian Superstar will be headlining the main event on Saturday, with additional performances by Isaac Geralds and the Ayo Band.

“As one of the few Nigerian restaurants in the DMV area, we are excited to share the richness of Nigeria’s culture and cuisine with the Rockville community. We want to give the people of this community and the wider DMV region a chance to experience Èkó (Lagos), right here in Maryland. Rockville Centre has such a diverse array of culinary offerings and we are thrilled that with Èkó HouseNigerian food is now an accessible option”, Yomi Ajao, Co-Founder, Èkó House states.

The menu at Èkó House includes well-loved Nigerian staples like Suya, grilled snapper fish, fried & roasted plantain (bole), Suya wraps, goat meat, and catfish pepper soup, Gizdodo, Asun, and the globally renowned Jollof rice. Also present on the menu are house specials like Èkó rice, which is rice sauteed with smoked palm oil, mixed peppers, and goat meat bites, Èkó burger, and Èkó House special sauce, a tasty and secret sauce. Revealing some exciting details about the menu, Francis Odiase, Co-founder, of Èkó House, comments “It’s been so wonderful to watch Nigerians/Africans who come in and are filled with appreciation and nostalgia in their eyes, and non-Nigerians relishing the food at Èkó House. We already have several customer favorites from the series of soft openings we’ve had and plan to include a few more dishes on the menu. We’re particularly thrilled about the grand opening menu, which will include limited choppables like Nigerian style meat pie, fish pie, puff puff, and so on.”

In addition to its delicious meals, Èkó House is also known for its music and lively ambiance, with soft music from a live band and its in-house DJ. Additionally, the family-friendly restaurant houses an impressive collection of art pieces by Nigerian artists that are sure to captivate you. It is also a great place to watch live sports, host office retreats, and celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions.
