Parc Redland: New Accessible Housing Project Quickly Selling Out

Universal Communities is the first builder/developer with the vision to create architecturally barrier-free, fully-accessible Design for Life housing. The builder’s inaugural project, Parc Redland Phase I – featuring 19 luxury townhomes located 2 miles north of the Shady Grove Metro Station on Redland Road, Rockville – is quickly selling out.

This notable community was recently honored with commendations from Maryland Governor Hogan, Comptroller Franchot, Senator Van Hollen, County Executive Elrich and members of the Montgomery County Council for achieving truly accessible housing in the context of a new community.

Inspired by the concept of universal design – which provides access for everybody, regardless of age, size, ability or disability – we have created an entire community where people can live together comfortably and age gracefully.

At nearly 3,000 square feet, Parc Redland’s homes are large, beautiful and luxurious, and include accessible design features integrated into each home that move the technology of homebuilding forward in a way that no other homebuilders have thought to achieve.

The homes have distinctive features such as: standard oversized elevators, multiple zero-step entries into the home, curbless showers, 8’ garage doors and counter and cabinetry designs that range from traditional to fully accessible, so that homebuyers can fully customize their home for their individual needs. Our homes have no thresholds anywhere, and each entire home is a fully accessible path. You wouldn’t notice these elements, however, unless look for them, because they are so well integrated into each home’s design.

Parc Redland Phase I – located at 17217 Redland Road, Rockville, MD 20855 – is the first luxury Design for Life community of its kind. Universal Communities is currently working on extending its success to Phase II, which will add a wider selection of floor plans and designs – including more affordable options – all built to the standards of universal, accessible housing and the Design for Life program.
